If your interests lie in Powerboats or Personal Water Craft, the Club has a programme of events and excursions throughout the season. All experience levels are catered for so novices and experienced helms can enjoy cruising in company.
The season often includes trips to Cellardyke, the Isle of May or North Berwick. You don’t need a boat to come along on one of these cruises. As long as you let us know in advance, we will do our best to arrange a place on board one of the participating boats.
Our cruises take place weather permitting and within the limitations of the type of craft that turn out to these events. The aim of the Powerboat Section is to promote a safe environment in which to enjoy our sport.
The new Club boat,”Neptune”, is a RIB with 50HP outboard engine, mainly used to support our sailing and powerboat events. This boat may be hired by suitably qualified and approved club members. To become an approved helm you must hold an RYA Powerboat Level 2 Certificate of Competence, and attend an induction session with out Chief Instructor. Our RIB is maintained by Chief Cox, Jim Smith.
A growing number of our Members now have Personal Water Craft (often known as Jet-skis), and Elie Harbour offers an ideal location to easily launch and retrieve, and plenty of coastline to explore.
