I hope that you are keeping well and have been finding enough to do with no boating available!
As you know the Scottish Government introduced some relaxation to the lockdown on Thursday that have a significant, and welcome, impact on water sports of all sorts. The RYA has been working closely with the Scottish Government to come up with workable guidelines which I am attaching to this email.
The basic premise is that we can get back to water sports as long as that complies with the current guidance on social distancing, not gathering in groups, etc. Therefore as long as we can launch and operate boats or other watercraft in one or two household groups we are free to continue.
Unfortunately these rules do mean that we cannot restart some activities yet. The skiff section will not be able to commence rowing and we will not be able to open the clubhouse or toilets until further notice. The committee also understands that the yachts intend to crane in on Monday. Regretfully,as a club, we cannot support this with the use of the rib, etc as the event is in breach of the lockdown rules. Obviously we will be happy to resume normal service as soon as we are able.
So for those of you who are able to get out and enjoy yourselves. For those who can’t, commiserations!
